Since I started, I’ve lost 50 pounds and regained strength and energy that I hardly remember having!

I desperately needed surgery and the doctor told me I couldn’t have it until I lost weight. This was terrifying!

Like many people, I had struggled losing weight for years. Working with this excellent trainer on my nutrition and fitness was the answer to my prayers.

Proud to say I’ve hit my first weight loss goal, am getting the surgery I need and am coming back stronger than ever!

Update: It has been almost a year since my hip replacement surgery and I have gained back all of the strength, balance, stability & range of motion that I ever had! Before starting with Patriot Personal training in Easton, I could hardly stand without pain & now I walk 125+ miles per month, thank you Andrew & Janice!

Brian Weight LossMy wife and I were talking about wanting to start a family in the near future and when I looked in the mirror the thought went through my head that at the pace I was going I was going to leave my wife a single mother because I would be dead.

Getting in shape has changed every aspect of my life. My relationship with my wife got better because I stopped hating myself, my work got better because I was physically able to do it, and it has given me a new outlook on life and what I’m capable of doing.

My biggest accomplishments in my fitness journey has been finishing the Spartan sprint and Spartan super obstacle course races

My future goals are to do a half marathon and to get below 200 pounds for the first time since 1999

90 pounds down and into smaller sizes!

into smaller sizesIt is a freaking amazing day in Spot Jan world!! First, it is an awesome fall day and football day. Second, it is rest day. As much as I originally fought against it, I’m loving it now. It’s the first time all week my legs are happy. Third, I hit the 90lbs lost mark. Fourth, the skinny jeans that were a little snug two weeks ago, now fit perfectly around the stomach, and even though they are too baggy, I still think they make my legs look amazingly skinny. Fifth, I stopped in at the Dunkin Donuts my nieces work at for coffee and heard someone say “oh my god, she looks so skinny”. Turns out it was one of my nieces! Then second niece came around the corner and had a Macauley Caulkin Home Alone moment, with hands on cheeks, mouth open, saying Oh my god, you look so small. You don’t look like Auntie Jan anymore! My thought? This is the new and improved Auntie Jan!!!

Finally, I took myself off to do a little shopping and buy a couple of long sleeve t shirts for these cool fall days. Decided while I was there I would just try on a pair of jeans from the Misses dept to see how much further I had to go before they fit and I could come out of the women’s (plus sizes) dept forever. I was stunned, astounded, and frankly amazed that I could put them on, and button and zip them!!! Yes, they are a little snug around the stomach (I’m not starting a crunches challenge tomorrow for nothing), but I can button and zip them, sit down and move around in them. Good bye, women’s dept, HELLO misses dept!! I have to admit, I was doing a happy dance in the dressing room, and I haven’t stopped smiling since. Here’s a pic of those jeans and the shirt I bought to go with them. Love the shirt!!

Life is good! And now it’s football time. Go Pats!!

Ryan Before AfterAt my largest, I weighed 307lbs. Stepping on the scale this morning, I weighed 202.3lbs. Losing 100 pounds in a healthy, manageable way took a lot of patience, dedication, and (most importantly) education.

When I was at my biggest, I knew I needed to get in shape for health reasons. When I was an infant, I had open heart surgery, and having a predisposition to heart disease and being my size was extremely dangerous. I’d be lying if I said that looking good wasn’t also a high priority, but how I looked wouldn’t matter if I wasn’t able to live how I wanted because of health restrictions.

Since working with Andrew, I’ve been able lose fat and increase muscle while gaining knowledge of how to maintain a healthy weight. In the past, I knew I could drop a lot of weight quickly by crash dieting or doing hours of cardio a week, but that weight loss was never permanent. Andrew has helped me create a strong foundation in my overall fitness level, which has stopped my past, habitual attempts of achieving my goals in an unhealthy, temporary way.

Because of the work I’ve done with Andrew, I have been able to do things I was never able to before. When I was 300 pounds, I never imagined I would be able to run road races or go the mall and fit into clothes in every store. Additionally, I never thought I would have the will power or drive to wake up at 8am on a Saturday morning in January to run 3 miles in 8 degree weather. Because of Andrew’s dedication to me as a client and the genuine relationship he has built with me, I feel like I can truly accomplish anything.

I will continue working with Andrew as I work towards increasing my muscle mass and lowering my body fat. I feel healthier and happier since losing all my weight, but will continue to work to be healthier because fitness has now become something I’m very passionate about. Andrew has taught me so many new ways to exercise that I genuinely enjoy the time I spend each day working out. When I was 300lbs, I would have never imagined that I would be where I am now; waking up in the morning looking forward to my workout. Because of the time I’ve spent working with Andrew and the passion for fitness he has shared with me, I can confidently say I will never be at dangerously unhealthy weight again.
